Our eye doctor takes the time to explain the results of your eye exam, describe your options and listen to your eye care needs. Because maintaining good eye health is an ongoing partnership, we encourage you to ask questions and share your health information, which could be vital to monitoring, diagnosing, and treating potential vision problems.
Dr. Julie Mathew is a Therapeutic Optometrist (O.D.) and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. Dr. Mathew graduated Salutatorian from North Mesquite High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from the University of St. Thomas, and her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry, Texas’ preeminent optometry program.
During her career, Dr. Mathew has worked in retail locations for a few years, as well as spending five years at an ophthalmology practice. She has spent her time focusing on specialty contact lens fittings, cataract co-management, Glaucoma examinations, Diabetic examinations, as well as routine eye exams. Her background has allowed her to gain expertise in a variety of eye conditions. In her spare time, Dr. Mathew enjoys spending time with her husband and three children.
